Twitter: Reading 2 Timothy 4 at Mo Joe's coffee house in Berkeley feels different from reading it alone at my house.

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It’s an easy way for you to keep up with the latest news and information from Earl Creps (and other websites) without having to come to our website and search for it. It is a simple 2-step process to see the latest news from Earl Creps via RSS.

Step 1: Subscribe to our RSS feed (which may require you to get a feed reader, but that is easy).
Step 2: Read our news in your feed reader whenever you are ready.

What is a Feed Reader?

A feed reader is a program that keeps track of all the feeds you have and displays the news from each website. Many of the popular feed readers are free and are on the web—that is, they are websites. You don’t have to install any software on your computer.

You may already be using a feed reader and not even realize it! If you have a personalized home page like My Yahoo, iGoogle, or My MSN, you’ve got an RSS feed reader built in. That’s how stuff like news, weather, and stock quotes appears on your personal page.

One of the most popular web-based feed readers is Google Reader. It is free, and it is easy to get started.

If you use the Firefox browser, you can also receive RSS feeds from your tool bar by using Live Bookmarks. Internet Explorer Version 7 has gets RSS feeds as well.

If it sounds complicated, it’s really not. Just give it a try, and you will see how easy it is.

How Do I Subscribe?

We can help you get set up! The first step is to choose an RSS feed reader. If you want to use one of the readers above, simply click the link and it will walk you through the process.

If you have chosen a reader, and need to set it up mannually, use the following instructions. Each reader has a slightly different way of adding a new feed but, in most cases, here’s how it works:

  • Copy the following URL: http://feeds.feedburner.com/earlcreps.
  • Paste that URL into the “Add New Channel” section of the reader you have chosen. The RSS feed will start to display and regularly update the headlines for you.
